Question of the Day: All the articles and blogs I read about divorce seem to be biased. A lot of people talk about trying to make things right and repair the damage that has been done. However, I married a man who saw nothing wrong, who saw no need to change or even discuss our problems. He believes in a higher power, but is neither spiritual nor religious.

How To Repair My Marriage

Like I said, he doesn’t think we should see a counselor and gets upset when I bring it up. The last time I talked about it, he was begging me to give him a chance to change on his own. I disagreed but continued and gave him time to notice the change. The changes he made were superficial and nothing made an impact or showed that he would be changed forever.

How To Repair A Relationship After Cheating, According To Infidelity Experts

I’m tired of being the one who always tries to do my best. He stops me every time I try to discuss something. He was dismissive and everything I said sounded like I was just complaining.

I don’t know if divorce is the solution, but I do know that our marriage is a wreck based on the assessment I made on your website. No advice? I know I need to start by strengthening my heart and responding with love by setting boundaries and that is what I plan to do at this time until I can figure out if I can get out of this marriage or not?

Answer: I agree that remarriage, if possible, is better than divorce. But there are two main questions that spouses must answer if they really want to restore their marriage.

First question: what broke? If we use the analogy of a house in need of repair, we would start with a general assessment of what is broken and what needs to be fixed to make the house livable. Cracked foundation, termites, mold, broken windows, water damage, roof problems, weak beams, lack of insulation, plumbing problems? In other words, how bad is the damage?

How Can I Get My Wife Back, And Deserve Her?’

Your question suggests that your husband feels no harm. Everything is normal from his point of view. He saw no need to fix anything. On the other hand, you say that your marriage is so broken that you need a repairer (counselor) to help you rebuild your marriage.

But then you said your husband said he would make some changes himself. But I would ask what changes would he make if he didn’t see anything broken? [Tweet “Don’t waste time fixing a leaky roof or broken pipe. »] His promise to make a change is like a man promising to hang new curtains over old curtains. It can hide the problem a bit, but when it’s cold wind and rain, the curtain is not long-lasting because the curtain doesn’t solve the problem, it just covers it.

My second question to you is how is this broken home (marriage) affecting you? Mold may be affecting your health. You are cold and feel very ill. Or you’ll fall through termite-eaten floorboards and break your leg. It’s not because he lives well, like you. Therefore, it is important for you to know that it is wise and biblical to protect yourself in order to be a good steward of your physical, mental, emotional, financial, and spiritual health. You are not complaining, ungodly, or a bad wife if you object to living in a toxic environment. God does not place the sanctity of marriage above the safety and purity of the individuals who enter into the marriage.

[Tweet “Third, if you can’t agree on what’s broken, you can’t agree on what needs to be fixed. ”] But even if you agree that your house needs major repairs, do you both have an obligation to do it? Do the necessary work to actually repair the damage?

What Repairs Are Necessary To Fix My Marriage?

Your question doesn’t tell you what my broken marriage quiz shows, but as you know, your husband needs to do some work to repair the damage. But you will also have work to do. You will not only need to be able to forgive, but you will also need to learn to trust him again, stop being supportive and hyperactive, because you have shown that you are tired of taking all the responsibility for maintaining this relationship.

You know what you need to do now because you have already stated it. You say, “I need to start by strengthening my heart and responding with love by setting boundaries, and that’s what I plan to do at this time until I can figure out if I can get out of this marriage?” Exactly. This is a great place to start the work you need to do because if nothing is fixed you will have to decide if you can stay healthy or how to get healthy again. I also encourage you to join CONQUER as our educational support team will give you the help you need to stay safe, healthy and strong.
