Does Select Health Cover Breast Pumps – For over 10 years, Babylist has provided parents with a unique service that allows them to create online registries that include products from a variety of retailers. But this year, the branch expanded its reach into new territory: health and wellness support.
In December, Babylist acquired health products company Source MD for an undisclosed amount. This allowed the company to launch a new division, Babylist Health, which was initially aimed at helping mothers purchase breast pumps using insurance premiums.

CEO and founder Natalie Gordon says Babylist Health’s goal is to simplify often stressful purchasing decisions by combining the insurance portion and the shopping portion on one platform. The acquisition of Source MD accelerates Babylist Health by about 18 months.

“We’re great at creating great product experiences. We’re great at content that helps you decide what products to buy,” Gordon told Modern Retail. “We needed to build the strength to work with insurance companies, and that’s where Source MD comes in.”
In its first three weeks, Babylist Health generated claims in 47 states with at least 60 different insurance companies. Customers do not need to register with Babylist or pay additional fees to use the service. It provides at least one free option that includes insurance and additional models available for an additional premium – compared to traditional insurance models that only have one or two options. Its stock includes top brands such as Spectra, Willow, and Lansinoh.
Babylist Health marks the latest development in the company’s growth strategy. Babylist raised $40 million in a Series C funding round in November 2021, for a total of $50 million in funding. More than 1 million baby registries are created on the service each year, and about eight million people purchase them each year.
Modern Retail spoke with Gordon about the new launch and Babylist’s overall strategy to become a one-stop shop for new parents.
Mam Move Wearable Single Electric Breast Pump
What inspired you to start Babylist and how has it changed? When I was expecting my son, I saw a real opportunity for Babylist. I asked, “Should I?” I tried to say it. and I really want to be a good mother. At that time you can visit Babies R Us. However, I’ve heard this from many other women, when you feel so overwhelmed that you don’t know what’s going on and start crying or worrying, it hits you straight away. Or, if you search online, you’ll find clickbait with “27 Best Strollers.”
In fact, at that time I had no idea it would become such a big company. But as I got older, I realized why we got along so well. I feel like we have a lot of confidence in us and that we can help you find what you and your family need. Not necessarily all of them. We are eager to help and help you make the right product decisions.
Why did you choose to start with a breast pump when you started Babylist Health? We help families get everything they need. And this is a very difficult product decision. In our user research, we asked, “What made you choose which pump or pumps would you choose?” And first-time mothers say: “Oh, I’ll get it for free.” And the second time mom said, “I want all the features, I’ll get the premium [model] and pay the difference.” So these are the key product decisions that your insurance will pay for, and we can help you find the best one for you.
How do you plan to grow this division and how does it fit into Babylist’s overall growth strategy? I’m sure there are products and accessories that can take you through the same process. However, services that have great opportunities, such as doula services or lactation consultants.
Best Portable Electric Breast Pumps Of 2024
Babylist is a phenomenal baby registry. We will help you identify all of these products. A lot of advertising happens through new parents, but in reality, friends and family buy the most from Babylist. Babylist Health in my opinion is the first step to help users during and after pregnancy.
In today’s price-conscious economic climate, how does this influence baby-buying decisions? Babies are a category where you still want the best. What you saw at the start of Covid, in that initial shock, was people wanting to support you more when times were tough. Gift giving is on the rise and people want to get what you need.
What we are seeing, and if this continues, is that the amount of waste per baby will increase every year.
Last year we had two pop-ups. Then we have the metaverse experience. And they’re very different, but “How can we innovate and help people make decisions about these products?” That’s definitely the track we’re on this year.
Pigeon Gomini™ Plus Double Electric Breast Pump
For us, the focus is really on the experience we can offer our users. Whether you use the app or the actual experience of having your mother-in-law come to the registry, we’re trying to make that [experience] better and better. And this really drives our future growth because word of mouth is very real to us. If you go to a baby shower and use Babylist, it will make a difference whether you use Babylist or have a neutral experience. The best pumps and products to get

Getting A Breast Pump Prescription
As with bottles, you should try to pump your breast milk intentionally. I have purchased and tested a total of 5 breast pumps – Baby Express BE MINE, Baby Express BE FREE, Real Bubee, Spectra S1+ and finally the Pumpables Super Genie.
Breastfeeding is one of the most bitter experiences I have ever had. I am enjoying my breastfeeding journey and am grateful that my daughter was able to transition to bottle feeding.
During the months of exclusive breastfeeding, I love using this constant breast pump to express every last drop of breast milk. This not only helps increase milk supply, but also prevents breast milk from overflowing.
“Hospital” breast pumps can be very confusing for mothers. In a clinical context, IBCLC refers to hospital-grade breast pumps as multi-purpose breast pumps.

This pump is intended for families who only pump or have a medical need for a more powerful pump. This product is often recommended to mothers in the NICU who are pumping, increasing breast milk, increasing milk supply, or caring for damaged nipples.
According to the Lactation Network, these powerful motorbikes are designed for heavy use and are usually rented to mothers on a monthly basis. This breast pump uses a “closed system” that prevents milk or other fluids from entering the motor.
In some countries, such as the United States (US), mothers can rent breast pumps at hospitals through insurance payments. With the Aeroflow breast pump, mothers can check whether they are eligible to rent through their insurance.

How To Shop For A Breast Pump (2023): Wearable Pumps, Portable Pumps, And Insurance Coverage
Hospital breast pumps may be preferred by many mothers because they can express breast milk efficiently and quickly and last a long time.
According to lactation consultant Amanda from Exclusive Pumping, hospital breast pumps tend to be more powerful than wearable pumps. They are also highly customizable, where you can adjust the cycle speed and vacuum strength to mimic your baby’s sucking pattern.
As a result, this results in efficient and effective milk extraction. This is very helpful for mothers who are trying to regulate their milk supply in the first few months.
With higher cycle speeds and different suction strengths, mothers spend less time collecting as much breast milk as possible. This is better for mothers who need to pump frequently (more than 3-4 times a day) or quickly, or need a lot of water.
